This policy explains what personal information Hivecraft Technology ("Hivecraft", "we", "us") collects through www.thehivecraft.com and our contact form, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to us at hello@thehivecraft.com.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form we collect the company you work at, your name, your email address, your message, which services you are looking for and where your product is today. If you email us or book a call, we also keep what you send us and the details needed to set up the call.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and kept secure. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from bots and to keep spam out. If you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics also collects how you use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived.
Information from Google, if you sign in with Google. If you sign in to a Hivecraft service with your Google account, we receive the basic profile details Google shares with us (your name, email address and profile picture) and only the additional data you approve on Google's consent screen. See "Google user data" below.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your message, and to set up a call or a project conversation.
- To contact you for our own marketing and promotional purposes, such as telling you about our services, work and news. You can opt out at any time.
- To understand how the site is used and to improve its content, design and performance.
- To protect the site and the form from spam, abuse and security threats.
- To meet our legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (for analytics cookies), on our legitimate interests (replying to you, marketing our services to business contacts and securing the site), and on what you asked us to do when you contacted us or signed in.
Cookies and analytics
The cookie notice lets you choose between essential, preference, statistics and marketing cookies. Essential storage is always on because the site needs it. We use Google Analytics (GA4) only if you accept statistics cookies; until then the Google Analytics script is not loaded. Your choice is saved in your browser, and clearing this site's data in your browser shows the choices again.
We may also use other analytics and performance tools to see what works and to make the site faster and easier to use. If a tool sets cookies or collects personal information, it will sit behind the same choices and we will update this page. You can stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and you can read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give it to anyone else for their own use. What you send us is used inside Hivecraft.
We do rely on a few service providers to run the site and handle it on our behalf: our hosting provider (Vercel), Cloudflare (the Turnstile spam check), Google (analytics, if you accept it) and our own customer relationship management (CRM) system, where form submissions are stored. They may process your data only to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our users or the site.
How long we keep it
We keep the details you send through the form for as long as we need them for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period.
Google user data
This section applies if you sign in to a Hivecraft service or connect your Google account to one.
- What we access: your basic Google profile (name, email address and profile picture) and any other data you explicitly approve on the Google consent screen. We ask only for what a feature needs.
- How we use it: only to sign you in, to identify your account and to provide and improve the feature you asked for. We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing or promotional outreach, and we do not use it to build profiles for those purposes.
- Who sees it: we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the feature, to follow the law, or with your explicit consent. People at Hivecraft do not read it unless you ask for support, it is needed for security or abuse investigations, or the law requires it.
- How long we keep it: for as long as your account or the feature is in use, and we delete it when you ask or when it is no longer needed.
- Your control: you can remove Hivecraft's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and you can ask us to delete the data we hold by emailing us.
Hivecraft's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and a spam check on the form. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop contacting you for marketing. Every marketing email we send can be answered with "unsubscribe", or you can write to hello@thehivecraft.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU and UK, California or Australia), you may have further rights under local law, including the right to object to or restrict our use of your data and to complain to your data protection authority. We will respond to these requests wherever you are.
Where your data is processed
We have studios in Kathmandu and Wyoming, and our providers operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. We take steps to make sure it is handled with the care this policy describes.
Children
Our site and services are for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you where the law requires it.
